Tonight’s meeting happened late, long after the streets had quieted. The Angel’s visitor was only 19, still living with his parents and currently without a job. He wanted to borrow 2.5 million pesos to take his girlfriend on vacation. When asked how he planned to repay it, he simply said he would find work soon. Why he hadn’t already done that remained unclear. Still, he was undeniably sweet — and that made the Angel consider helping him.
