Violet is new to Los Angeles, having moved to the city from Texas just two months ago to live with her boyfriend. However, all hell breaks loose quickly when she discovers that her boyfriend is cheating on her. She confronts him about it and, consequently, finds herself kicked out of his home. Knowing nobody in a city foreign to her, Violet is lost and helpless, stranded in the parking lot of her boyfriend's apartment, with no money and nowhere to go and nobody to help her. Alvin bumps into Violet, and, after a brief conversation, Alvin coaxes her to come out of her shell and ultimately convinces her to go inside his apartment to "figure out her next move." Violet is wary of stranger danger but has no other alternative, so she reluctantly accepts his invitation. Once inside his apartment, Alvin relentlessly mounts pressure on Violet to give him what he wants, and, as Violet quickly learns, it definitely isn't ca$h payment in exchange for accommodation. Violet has something much more valuable. Faced with the ultimate moral dilemma, Violet is confronted with the choice between -- on one hand -- her morals and her loyalty to her boyfriend, and her need for safety and comfort in a strange foreign city on the other. Luckily, she makes the right choice.
