- Magnolia's frantic need has been quelled, for the moment, leaving space for her breath and the kind of sweet, sexual tension which mounts gradually rather than all at once. As the camera glides over her long final stretches, I'm left with the feeling that I've just watched a fully dimensional story, Magnolia's ode to self.
